WILDCARDS blurs the line between cinema and theatre--shot in real time, every day, the piece follows the trial of Theodore Sterling (Crew Morrow), a privileged young man accused of sexually assaulting a young Black woman (Stakiah Lynn Washington). As jurors from vastly different backgrounds clash over the evidence, tensions escalate between Assistant State Attorney James Jones (Aries Spears), a determined prosecutor, and Greg Sims (Leon), a veteran defense attorney with a flawless 25-year record. The case takes a shocking turn with the arrival of a mysterious "wildcard" witness who claims to know the truth about the night in question. Her connection to the accused raises unsettling questions of bias, credibility, and justice--threatening to upend the entire trial.
