Every year, unemployed copywriter, Joe Michaels, is forced to endure reading about his wealthy friends' extravagant life in his annual Christmas Letter. The letter always exudes a life of luxury, making him feel like a failure who can't seem to catch a break. But this year, Joe is determined to change his luck and hatches a plan, gambling everything to give his family a luxury letter-matching vacation.
