Young boxer Tommy Riley is a talented but undisciplined fighter who is still recovering from splitting up with his girlfriend, Stephanie. Though hindered by considerable emotional baggage, Tommy wants to reinvigorate his career and finds a dedicated trainer in the form of ex-boxer Marty Goldberg. Under Marty's tutelage, Tommy starts to thrive once again, but a surprising revelation threatens to shatter their strong connection.
